Welcome to the Glenview Library

Wendy Canfield, Librarian

Our library is now in two languages.  We have books in English, Spanish and Bilingual English/Spanish.

Please encourage your students to check out and return books each week.

Here's what we're reading in Library:
Preppy K - 1st Grade - we read a variety of picture books stories
2nd Grade - Spiderwick Chronicles by Tony Diterlizzi & Holly Black
3rd Grade - Witches by Roald Dahl
4th Grade - Pax by Sara Pennypacker
5th Grade - The wild robot by Peter Brown
6th Grade - Call it courage by Armstrong Sperry

Netflix has just released the first 8 episodes of the "Series of Unfortunate Events" by Lemony Snicket.  This is a popular book series and we have all the books in our library.

I would like all our Glenview Students to have a public library card to either Yorba Linda Public Library or Placentia Public Library.  Both libraries offer excellent summer reading programs and other fun events all year long.  The greatest thing about the public library is that it is FREE!

It's nearly time for summer vacation! Swimming, cookouts, fishing, lazy afternoons, late nights--what could be more fun? But the break from school comes with a potential downside: "summer slide," the loss of reading skills during the long stretch between Memorial Day and Labor Day.

Research shows that if a child reads a minimum of two books over the summer, they will maintain their reading level.  Many children stop reading over the summer which causes their reading level to drop (often below grade level) when they return to school in the fall.

Our local libraries are here to help!  The Yorba Linda Library and Placentia Library have summer reading programs for all ages.  The Placentia Library also has Spanish books perfect for our Dual Language students.

Sign up today for the summer reading program.  IT’S FREE!!

The more you read, the more you know, the more you know, the more you grow!
